Baby Tag
I saw this on a friend's blog, and thought it sounded fun and unique, so I decided to do it too.
1. Where were you when you first found out you were pregnant? I was at home all 3 times!
2. Who was with you? my husband
3. What was your first reaction? with the first one, I was super excited, but surprised because it happened so fast after I went off birth control (1 month); with the 2nd one, I was way excited because we'd been trying for a year; with the 3rd one, again I was excited, but not too surprised because I was a week late and feeling all the symptoms.
4. What was your husband's reaction? He seemed happy and excited all 3 times. We were always trying, so there were no big surprises.
5. Who was the first person you told? Mitch, of course. After him, my mom and mother in law were next. I have a hard time keeping it in, so people find out pretty quickly.
6. Was the pregnancy planned? Yes, although with Jenna and this pregnancy, we didn't expect to get pregnant so fast after we started trying.
7. Was everyone happy for you? I think so. I don't know why they wouldn't have been.
8. What was the sex? first 2 were girls. We don't know about this one yet...pray for a boy!
9. What was the nursery theme/colors? Noah's Ark in bright colors. It was super cute.
10. Did anyone throw a shower for you? With Jenna, I had several baby showers (work, friends, my family, Mitch's family). I was so pampered since it was our first and the first grandchild on both sides of the family.
11. Did you get any outfits you wouldn't use? I think I had a couple. I had one outfit that reeked of cigarette smoke. Even after washing it multiple times, I couldn't bring myself to use it. My girls had/have way too many clothes!!!
12. How much weight did you gain? I think about 30 lbs with both pregancies. So far with this one, I've lost, but I'm just barely out of the 1st trimester.
13. Did you get stretch marks? Yes...blah!
14. Did you crave anything crazy? For some reason, I craved nachos a lot with Jenna. I don't remember really craving much with Rylee. And so far with this pregnancy, I crave soup a lot and absolutely don't want fatty/greasy fast food. With Jenna and Rylee, tuna made me gag bad, and it did even after pregnancy. For some reason, I can finally eat it now with little or no problems.
15. Who or what got on your nerves the most? I don't really remember anyone or anything getting on my nerves, except for random mood swings when everything got on my nerves.
16. Where were you when you went into labor? I was scheduled for a c-section with both pregnancies (I am for this one too). Jenna was breach and had a short cord, so the doctor didn't want me to go into labor. No contractions really even with Jenna. With Rylee, I started having some consistent, but not super strong, contractions at 37 weeks. The doctor didn't want me to get worse and go into labor, so he quickly sent me to the hospital for a C-section. It all happened so fast.
17. Did you have any complications? Not really, other than the contractions with Rylee. The only other problem I had was some kind of reaction after I had Jenna. My body temperature wouldn't go up very fast and I had uncontrollable shakes. I spent an hour in recovery alone, and still couldn't hold her after I got out of recovery because I was shaking so bad.
18. Did your water break? Nope, since I had scheduled c-sections.
19. Who drove you to the hospital? With Jenna, Mitch did. With Rylee, I drove myself since I went straight from the doctor's office. My doctor didn't even let me go home and get anything. Mitch had to meet me at the hospital.
20. Did you go early or late? As scheduled with Jenna, early with Rylee.
21. Who was in the room during delivery? during the c-sections, only Mitch and the doctors. My mom and mother-in-law (and some other immediate family) were right outside the door both times.
22. Did you video tape it? Nope, but Mitch thought about it with Rylee. It happened too fast, so he had no time to get the video camera (thankfully).
23. Did you have any pain medication? Spinal blocks and pain meds after the c-sections.
24. Did you have a c-section or natural? C-sections, and this one will be a c-section as well.
25. What was your reaction to the birth? I cried and was way excited. With Jenna, I was sad that I was shaking so bad that I couldn't even hold her. With Rylee, I got her right after they got her cleaned up and my stitched up, so I loved the alone time with her! When they pulled Jenna out, I was surprised because I thought they were just barely cutting my belly.
26. How big was the baby? Jenna was 6 lb 3 oz and 20in (I think); Rylee was 5 lb 4 oz and 19 1/2 inches (although the hospital said she was 21 inches...not true...they measured her wrong).
27. What was the baby's full name? Jenna Lyn Barney and Rylee Marie Barney
28. Did your husband cry? I'm not sure. I think he may have a gotten a little teary eyed.
29. When is the next one coming? Due July 24, 2008, although we're hoping we can schedule it for around July 10, since Mitch leaves for 2 weeks for National Guard on July 18.
30. If you could would you do it all over again? I'm doing it again now, and I'm sure I'll do it at least once more. I love being pregnant and I love being a mom!

You love being pregnant???? What???? You must have pretty good pregnancies - lucky girl!! How scary, to have c-sections. I haven't had to have one yet; they freak me out.
I love being pregnant after the 1st trimester. I love to feel the baby move. Ok, so the last couple months aren't so wonderful either. So, I love the middle of pregnancy. :o) I really do have easy pregnancies. I don't mind the c-sections now that I've had a couple. A normal birth freaks me out!

I didn't even know you were pregnant! I really need to look at this more often. #3! That's amazing. We're still comtemplating #1. Hopefully soon :) Congratulations!
I hope that you don't mind but I was reading yours and thought this would be cool to put on my blog. I am the same way I love to be pregnant. We are not going to state trying until we are in our new house. Hope that you are doing well. Let me know if you need anything at all.
