National Guard Family Retreat

We went on a little family retreat with the National Guard on May 21-24, 2010 at Trinity Pines in Cascade, ID. I don't know why we didn't get more pictures, but I'll just talk a little about what we did. The kids mostly went to the day care, but we had several sessions where they taught Mitch and I about ways to be more effective parents and ways to have better relationships with each other as a family. There were outdoor activities planned with the kids, but thanks to good old Idaho weather, it was raining/snowing the entire time. The 2nd night, some people from our cabin made smores with gigantic marshmallows. These are pictures of our smores.

We drove there through Sun Valley, stopped at the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory. Mitch works with someone at TSA that works there part-time, and she sent us home with tasty chocolate and carmel covered apples (our favorite), fudge, and candy.

The drive was absolutely beautiful, but long. We were so glad to make it to Cascade. So, after 2 long days of sessions and cold rain/snow, we went home, this time through Boise so it wasn't so long.

Though it was long and cold, we had a good time and learned a lot. Mitch and I have tried hard to implement the things we learned there.
